ENTERTAINMENT:  Stand Up For Mental Health comedians

The SMH Comedy Society delivers Stand Up For Mental Health (SMH) counsellor, stand-up comic, and bipolar sufferer David Granirer’s award-winning program that teaches stand-up comedy to people with mental health issues as a way of building confidence and fighting public stigma. They make a huge difference in the lives of our comics and also to the community by showing them a totally different perspective on mental health. Audiences at their shows see people on stage who are funny, likeable, friendly, and courageous, qualities you often don’t associate with someone who has mental health issues! Their shows are hilarious, and they’re a great way to educate the public about what it means to have a mental health condition. And what better way to learn about such a serious subject then through comedy!
