WHAT IS RECOVERY?
A THEATRE WORKSHOP - FREE
Led by David Diamond
September 26, 2024 from 10AM to 5PM
(Lunch provided around 12:30 PM)
“A theatre workshop exploring: “What is Recovery” that accesses the expertise and experience of the people in the room. No acting experience is necessary, and yes, it will also be fun!"
What is recovery? The Mental Health Commission of Canada describes it this way. "A person experiencing ongoing symptoms of a mental health problem or illness and/or substance use can still live a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life. The pursuit of that journey is at the heart of “recovery,” a concept whose principles include hope, dignity, self-determination, and responsibility."
World renowned David Diamond is the founding member and artistic director of the Vancouver based theatre company Theatre for Living (Headlines Thetre) from 1984 until 2018. Diamond continues to offer Theatre for Living workshop processes on many issues with communities who invite him to do so . He is also a keynote speaker, author and actor.
